Collection: Rare

Rare cards in the Pokémon TCG are the "classically rare" cards in a booster pack. You can identify them by the star symbol at the bottom of the card; they appear much less frequently than Common and Uncommon cards, making them more interesting for many collectors.

In terms of content, Rares are often stronger Pokémon (often with a Holo effect) or important Trainer cards that play a central role in many decks.

For beginners, this means: Rare cards are not as extremely rare and expensive as Ultra Rares or Secret Rares, but are clearly above the "mass" of Common cards.
