Pokémon cards by condition

Grading of Pokémon Cards by Condition

Pokémon cards are traded from "fresh out of the booster" to "damaged." To ensure a comparison and a fair price, standardized conditions have been defined in the TCG scene. The American and European systems have become established, with possible minor deviations.

The different conditions of Pokémon cards in the Sammelfieber shop:

  • Mint (MT) ➜ In perfect condition. Even booster-fresh cards usually do not meet these requirements.
  • Near Mint (NM) ➜ Only barely noticeable flaws like small white spots on the edge (whitening). Typical for newly unpacked cards.
  • Excellent (EX)  Only very minor damage, for example, a few more white spots on the edges and corners.
  • Good (GD) ➜ Card with slight wear that is difficult to spot at first glance.
  • Light Played (LP) ➜ Clearly visible signs of use such as minor scratches.
  • Played (PL) ➜ Clearly used card with immediately noticeable flaws.
  • Poor (PO) ➜ Card considered damaged, e.g., due to tears or a strong crease.

Additionally, Booster Fresh may be noted for cards that come directly from a booster pack (Booster to Sleeve). For all cards, it is indicated whether the images are original images of the item or example images. Typically, scans of the front and back are taken for all cards, except for those sold in multiples, such as energy cards.
